In the presence of Dr. Fayez Al-Fayez, Head of Computer Science and Information Department, the 6th seminar was presented by Dr. Lowai Molhem, with the theme “Network Monitoring”.
Dr. Molhem talked about the process of monitoring and analyzing data transfer in computer networks for problems caused by overloaded or constant change. The task of monitoring and analyzing those data is difficult, time-consuming and require large space of storage. This makes the process of monitoring for the network administrator more complicated given the available capacity of storage and time.
To that end, Dr. Molhem proposed a mathematical formula to determine the important data in computer networks. With a number of attempts, this formula has proven to reduce the percentage of data transfer down to 80 %.
A Q&A session was conducted for faculty members which was very informative.
