Sami Al-Maliki, a Ph.D. scholarship student in the field of biomedical sciences, won the Best Scientific Research Award at the Conference of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Science in the U.S. Sami’s research is about the study of the mechanics stimulating the division of stem cells extracted from adipose tissues into the cells lining blood vessels to be then cultured in the blood vessels of the patient in order to compensate for the damaged endothelial cells upon fixing a stent and to avoid blood vessel narrowing again. It is to note that this is the second time Sami wins Best Research Award in an American University, the first was Best Research Award at the yearly held Creighton University Conference. On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Sciences in Zulfi Dr. Muhammad Al-Aboudi and the College staff express their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Maliki on this achievement, wishing him further success.
