A seminar held by the Department of Physics entitled "Levels of Natural Radioactivity in Soils for Some Natural Radionuclides"

The Department of Physics at the College of Science in Zulfi held a seminar entitled "Levels of Natural Radioactivity in Soil for Some Natural Radionuclides".

The seminar was presented by Sarah Ali Al-Bateeh, MA student, and talked about the use of Gamma-ray spectroscopy to determine the concentration of natural radionuclides such as radon 226, uranium 238, thorium 238 and potassium 40.

The hazard index resulting from these radionuclides was calculated and the measurement results obtained from these indicate that the area has background radioactivity levels within normal limits.
