As part of the operational plan of the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Committee in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, a seminar was held entitled: (Synthesis of porphyrin-phthalocyanine triple-decker arrays around a triphenylene core).
The seminar was presented by Dr. Sultana Al-Hunaihan, a faculty member, and discussed the manufacture and formation of multi-storey systems on a large scale as two-storey and three-storey.
Substituted triphenylene isomeric compounds were manufactured and synthesized for the first time and the linkage points were introduced at the 2,3 and 3,6 positions. The goal was achieved by synthesizing and assembling 3 × three-storey porphyrins and phthalocyanines to create a three-layer system that has the tremendous capacity to generate improved memory storage capacity and energy suitable for a wide range of medical applications.
At the end, a Q&A session was held.
