Deanship of Student Affairs concluded its programs for pilgrims. Its participation was with the University scouts in Mina campaign in Makkah Almukarramah. The general superintendent of the university scouts and the Deanship vice Dean for student activities Mr. Khaled Ibrahim Alofeisan mentioned that the scouts participation this year was distinguished as the participating scouts were given a qualifying course for introducing them to their missions and roles in pilgrims services campaigns. Also, the scouts were given a field trip in Mina and Arafat, and training on how to guide pilgrims, identifying locations and guiding lost people. Aside from that, training was given on how to deal with different ages of pilgrims who come from varied cultures and various countries. A very specialized training on first aids, driving injured people, identifying ambulance cars and their contents and training on Red Crescent works. Mr. Alofeisan mentioned that the university scouts were distinguished for hosting many activities such as hosting sheikh Abdullah Almotlaq, the consultant in the Royal Diwan and a member of great scholars association and a member of the standing committee for issuing fatwas, holding daily parties, Arafah breakfast and campaign Eid celebration. In fact, the University scouts tackled their missions of serving Allah’s guests in the area of guiding lost pilgrims and driving them back to their campaigns during hajj days. Statistically, the university scouts drove (2785) pilgrims back to their campaigns, and they guided with maps around (7495) pilgrims, and they also reunited several individuals with their lost families. At the end of general service campaigns for hajj, the university scouts achieved a number of first places during hajj period such as the first place in courteous SCOUT competition, the second place in clean scout competition and the fifth place in the enriching programs. Moreover, the scout Abdullah Alne’ami was distinguished for getting the first place in the Noble Qura’an competition, and the scout Aiman Aljabr for getting the third place in Mazameer Al David for the Noble Qura’an; the university scout Yasser Alwabran for getting the ideal scout among the Saudi universities and other bodies of Ministry of Education and Youth Welfare as well as other bodies. On the other side, his excellency the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hamad Abdullah Alghemeizi said that the university administration represented by its Rector Dr. Khaled Sa’ad Almuqrin and his excellency the University vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Mohammad Othman Alrokban daily follow the activities the students and scouts perform as well as the participants with the Red Crescent. In the end, Dr. Alghemeizi expressed his thanks to the University Rector Dr. Khaled Sa’ad Almuqrin for his constant directions and support for the Deanship in general and particularly to this event the university presents in the name of Deanship of Student Affairs for pilgrims.
