Deanship of Student Affairs concludes its programs on the National Day 90th

A number of activities were launched by Deanship of Student Affairs to celebrate the national day 90th ‘Mettle to the summit’. The activities aimed to inculcate in students the importance of patriotism value and the necessity of having a strong passion to develop the country.

The activities featured many programs as well as cultural, social and sports contests. One of these activities was a virtual forum addressing issues related to patriotism and the country, moderated by the dean, Dr. Khalid al-Ofaisan.

Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rushud, advisor and supervisor of MU rector’s Office, gave a paper on patriotism and the kingdom’s vision 2030; Dr. Nawal al-Musned, coordinator of Department of Educational Science, gave a paper on the value of patriotism and its effect in facing crisis; and Prof. Abdullah al-Suwayket, dean of Graduate Studies, gave a paper on the nation as described by writers.

The next day a seminar was held on the nation from the perspective of jurisprudence and Saudi law, which was moderated by the vice-dean for student activities, Dr. Ahmed al-Zahrani.

The head of Islamic Studies Department at College of Education, Dr. Abdelrahman al-Dheeb, gave a talk on patriotism according to jurisprudence. Another talk was given by the vice-dean for student affairs and head of Department of Law at College of Business Administration, Dr. Faris al-Faris, on patriotism from the perspective of Saudi law.

Several cultural and social contests were held such as infographic design of the Kingdom’s history and leaders, a 90-mintue motion graphic design about the Kingdom, best 90-second poem about the Kingdom, best 90-letter tweet about the Kingdom, best plastic painting.

Sports and scouts’ competitions were also held during the event such as: best introductory video of the country’s sports achievement, best design of King Abdul Aziz’s sayings, best photograph of a landmark in Saudi Arabia, best idea that emulate the Kingdom’s vision 2030.

During this occasion, the deanship formed a partnership with the Deanship of Community Service to train 90 students to obtain the CIT certificate.

The dean and vice-deans expressed their feelings about this occasion on Tweeter, highlighting the role of academia in building this nation.

The dean, Dr. Khalid al-Ofaisan, pointed out that the deanship, at the request of MU rector and the follow-up of the vice-rector for educational affairs, has striven to hold such programs to celebrate the national day 90th and to inculcate among students the value of patriotism.
