Under the patronage of MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, and the presence of the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Prof. Mohammed Al-Aboudi, the Sports and Scouting Activities Department at the Student Activities Vice-Dean's Office organized, with the support of the Student Fund, the first chess tournament for students in the Colleges of Medicine and Applied Medical Sciences.
30 male students and 4 female students from various colleges participated in the tournament, wishing such sports activities tournaments that develop and refine their talents should be held regularly.
The Vice Dean for Student Activities awarded the winners, and they are: Osama Al-Tawil from the College of Science who won the first place and the gold medal (male campus), Abdul Salam Al-Nasser from the College of Engineering who won the second place and the silver medal and Abdulaziz Al-Fraidi from the College of Engineering who won the third place and the bronze medal.
At the female campus, the following students won the first three places, and they are: Raghad Al-Shammari (gold medal) from the College of Nursing, Shahd Al-Abdullah (silver gold) from the College of Computer Sciences and Information, and Shurooq Al-Abdullah (silver gold) from the College of Computer Sciences and Information.
