Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Unit

Unit Responsibilities

  1. Providing technical support and scientific consultation to faculty members and university units in the field of assessment and evaluation.

  2. Developing and updating assessment and evaluation methods to promote fairness and enhance the efficiency of educational outcomes.

  3. Defining and establishing standards for achievement measurement and evaluation.

  4. Promoting the concept of quality and disseminating its culture throughout the college.

  5. Supervising the conduct of the quality assurance program in the college.

  6. Overseeing performance evaluation within the college.

  7. Supervising the conduct of the academic accreditation and evaluation program.

  8. Preparing and implementing the college’s developmental, strategic, and operational plans.

  9. Studying challenges and problems facing development and quality programs and proposing appropriate solutions.

  10. Identifying specialized training needs for faculty members in the college’s academic departments and coordinating with the Deanship of Skills Development for implementation.

  11. Encouraging faculty members to participate in training programs, workshops, and development activities offered by the Deanship of Skills Development.

  12. Supervising the preparation of a development plan for enhancing the skills of the college's faculty, staff, and students.

  13. Supervising the preparation of the college’s annual report and distributing it to relevant entities after approval by the Dean.

  14. Submitting periodic reports to the Dean regarding the progress of work within affiliated units, including any challenges encountered.

  15. Overseeing the development of the college’s educational facilities including laboratories.

  16. Establishing internal work systems for the Vice-Dean's Office, including job descriptions, responsibilities, and coordination mechanisms between its affiliated units.

  17. Supervising the implementation of any development or quality-related matters referred to the unit.

  18. Holding and monitoring activities related to awards for creativity and excellence in academic, research, and professional performance within the college.

  19. Developing phased plans for the periodic review of approved quality standards to ensure continuous improvement in the performance of academic departments and administrative units.

  20. Establishing a mechanism to identify expectations, requirements, and satisfaction levels of the college’s stakeholders (internal and external) and communicating this information to all relevant academic and administrative units.

  21. Implementing and following up on the evaluation and development of faculty teaching performance and assisting faculty in achieving academic and professional excellence.
