An introductory meeting was held by the college for new students under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Dr. Ashwaq Asiri, with the participation of the college’s vice deans, department heads, and faculty members.
The meeting was presented by Dr. Wedad Al-Anazi. The meeting kicked off with a welcoming speech for the dean addressed by Dr. Sharifa Al-Asiri on behalf of the Dean. She encouraged the students to work hard and diligently to achieve the highest quality standards. At the end of her speech, she thanked all those who contributed to holding this meeting.
Dr. Wedad reviewed the history of the nursing profession and the stages of its development until it became one of the most prominent health professions in the Kingdom. She highlighted the types of nursing, including: general nursing, community health nursing, maternal and child health, internal medicine, basic nursing care, and nursing administration.
Dr. Amira Yahya explained the study plan and the contact hours, highlighting the role of the academic advisor in helping students in selecting their courses in line with the cumulative average and internship. She also talked about the role of the college in helping students to pass the tests.
Dr. Wedad advised the students to adhere to the dress code of the college, taking into account the customs and traditions as we live in a Muslim community. She also mentioned the services provided by the university including transportation, health services, libraries, photography centers, book sales, and others.
Ms. Munira Al-Awhali from the Transportation Department gave a detailed explanation of how to register for university transportation through the academic portal.
The meeting concluded with a speech by the vice-dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Buqmi, explaining some academic guidelines, conditions to join nursing.
