The College of Nursing hosted an awareness course entitled (Mechanism for Separating, Collecting and Transporting Medical Waste), which was held by the General Administration of Occupational Health and Environment.
The course was presented by Mr. Ibrahim Al-Mufarrij, and targeted faculty members, students and health staff. The course aimed to raise awareness about the best practices of dealing with hazardous medical waste including production, sorting and storage, transportation and treatment processes, and disposal. The need to adhere to the correct categories of waste in accordance with the approved health and environmental regulations and legislation was also highlighted to ensure the protection of the environment and public health.
