The chair is established in one of three ways:
A scientific chair seeking an external funder to focus on a topic and achieve its goals by a group of the university's researchers.
A research team sets a vision for establishing a scientific chair in a topic.
A scientific chair proposed by the Vice-Rector's Office for postgraduate studies and scientific research that has a value.
This is achieved through:
A request to establish the chair (by a faculty member) is sent to the Research Chairs and External Fund Department that includes the proposal and fulfills all the required conditions. The request is submitted via the electronic transactions portal or CMS or the faculty member's university email to the Research Chairs Department The proposal can also be submitted via the electronic form or via the electronic management system (still underway).
The Research Chairs Department reviews the extent to which the formal requirements are met in the proposal and conducts the necessary communication until it meets the formal requirements.
Once the proposal is ready, it is submitted to the University Research Chairs Supervisory Committee headed by the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research to study it objectively and take all necessary measures - including interviews- to make the final decision.
After approval, the Research Chairs Department undertakes all necessary administrative, financial, media and technical tasks. This includes:
Following up on the financial and administrative reports of the chairs.
Writing performance reports for the research chairs.
All PR affairs.
Following up on the funders of the research chairs.
Preparing the final account of the chair programs and submitting it to the Supervisory Committee for Scientific Research Chairs.
Implementing the decisions issued by the Research Chairs Committee.
Requests are submitted by the supervisors of the research chairs via electronic forms.
