The Social Responsibility Observatory
The field of social responsibility is one of the important areas and urgent responsibilities for universities due to the nature of their work, their goals, their mission, and their influential role in communities, as well as their ability to address local community issues. In addition to their main role in admitting and graduating students and conducting scientific research, universities have to establish a high-level administrative body to act as the arm that organizes and oversees the university's role in activating social responsibility and achieving its goals.
In this regard, the university has established a Social Responsibility Observatory to serve as the arm that supports the university in fulfilling its role in the field of social responsibility. The observatory is responsible for managing this area by implementing initiatives that achieve the university's objectives in social responsibility.
The observatory consists of several centers and supporting units, including the Family and Childhood Center, the Special Needs Services Center, the Voluntary Work Center, the Awareness and Education Unit, the Community Engagement Unit, and the Local Development Programs Unit.

Mission: The Social Responsibility Observatory aims to enhance the university's role in the community by activating social responsibility.

Medical Services conducts an oral and dental health campaign for primary school students in the governorate’s schools
Within the framework of oral and dental health awareness and the importance of spreading medical culture related to oral and dental health and our belief in the importance of active participation in serving the community, a team from the medical services carried out an oral and dental health campaign targeting primary school students in the schools of education in Al Majmaah with the aim of reducing the incidence of caries and decay and spreading many correct concepts for maintaining oral and dental hygiene. A group of medical services cadres participated in this preventive campaign under the supervision of dentist Dr. Walid Al-Huwaiti.

The University Medical Center participated in the awareness event on the importance of the seasonal influenza vaccine, which was held by the Volunteer Center at the Social Responsibility Observatory, as part of the initiatives it offers to care for society and health, and to enhance and activate social responsibility.
His Excellency the Advisor and Supervisor of Administrative, Financial and Technical Affairs, Professor Dr. Muslim bin Muhammad Al-Dosari, launched the event in the University Administration Building and the Supporting Deanships, which was held for three days in various buildings of the university administrations in Majmaah and Zulfi, where the work team presented medical brochures and educational materials on the importance of the vaccine and its benefits and developed a questionnaire for visitors about the event, from which more than 300 visitors benefited.

The University's Medical Services Department, represented by the mobile medical clinics, carried out field visits to a number of villages, including Umm Sidra and Al-Naghiq villages, in order to conduct a medical and environmental survey of citizens and residents, as well as provide treatment and educational services to the population. The total number of cases examined in the two villages reached 422. The general practitioner clinic received 259 patients, the dental clinic received 114 patients, and the Al-Dammam clinic received 49 cases. The Dean of the College of Medicine and Supervisor of Medical Services, Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Abdulwahab, stated that these field visits come in implementation of one of the most important messages of the university through effective community partnership, and that the medical services, represented by the mobile medical clinics, have implemented many programs and activities in the past period in order to contribute to achieving that message. On Monday 01/04/1439 AH, they visited the village of Mishlah for a full day, during which they presented community activities within the Public Health and Epidemiology curriculum.
The mobile medical services provided all treatment services, medical consultations and health education to all visitors.
The number of visitors to the mobile cart was 68 people.
Students from the College of Medicine participated in these events, accompanied by the Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health, professors in the department, and doctors.
During this visit, the students presented the following:
- Health awareness for primary school students, where topics of personal hygiene and risky behavior were presented, in addition to nutrition, obesity and other health topics.
- Then the students conducted a mini-survey to know the environmental situation in the village and to know the most common health problems. They also provided health awareness to the residents. The information collected helps to create a map of the health situation in the village.
The students were trained on how to take samples of drinking water for later analysis at the water laboratory in Majmaah and to determine its suitability and safety from bacteria.
