The Student Activity Unit at the Female Section of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences organized an activity aiming for raising awareness of the Down syndrome, its reasons and possible treatment. Opened up by Dr. Sarah Al-Laboun, the activities of the day included some information provided by the Faculty students about the syndrome, its reasons and the ways to incorporate those who are suffering from it into society.
Some paintings and drawings made by children with the syndrome were also presented that day. Several faculty members and students from various faculties attended the event as well as Dr. Jawaher Al-Omer- Vice-rector for Quality and Development along with Dr. Eman Mustafa, a consultant at the Quality Deanship. The visitors expressed their admiration with the activities and praised the efforts of the students in providing valuable information about the syndrome.
