The Dean of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Fahad bin Khaled AL Thufairi instructed the vice deanship for student affairs represented by the Student Club and the College Vice deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research represented by the Community Service Unit to organize a scientific event on diabetes to celebrate the 2016 World Diabetes Day. The event was carried in King Abdullah High School in Majmaah on Monday 21/2/1438 H. Mr. Alaa Shaheen, the college lecturer explained the disease, its symptoms, types, history and the ways to prevent its complications. The lecturer dealt also mentioned that regular exercise and healthy food are essential for growth. Dr. Mohammed Seyam, the chair of the Community Service Unit spoke about the college departments, its programs and the potential jobs for graduates. Mr. Rada Shnan together with a group of students made then sugar level tests for pupils and the school's teachers. Banners on diabetes were displayed to sensitize against the disease and how to prevent catching it. Pupils' interaction with the lectures was obvious as they raised many questions orally and in writing and by the end of the event the college team thanked the school's administration for their hospitality and for granting such occasion to hold the event. The school's administration extended in turn its appreciation and thanks to the college and Majmaah University and expressed the desire to hold similar events in the future.
