Under the auspices of the College Supervisor Dr. Fahd Al Zafiri and the Vice-Dean of the College Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Otaibi, the College of Applied Medical Sciences held the elections of the Students' Advisory Council for (male and female) campuses. The aim of this election was to discuss students' wishes and problems, and convey them to the Council. The elections were also aimed at rooting Shura (consultation) in the College, since such elections develop students' leadership skills, as well as prepare and qualify them to leadership by reinforcing the basis of discussion and acceptance of the different opinion. Moreover, Such programs aim to strengthen the principles of Shura (consultation) in the hearts of students being an Islamic administrative principle. In fact, Shura develops students' leadership and management skills and opens the way for them to participate in decision making for the benefit of the College and themselves. It also enables them to contribute in achieving discipline within the College and informing the College administration of their wishes and opinions through the Council’s sessions reports, which in turn enables students to address their main problems through discussion and debate. The candidates for the Council were chosen via the nominations of all students in all College departments. Furthermore, this Council will have full independence in addressing and discussing all issues referred to it by the students or proposed by the Council members themselves without any interference from any supervisory or administrative parties.
