Because the College of Applied Medical Sciences is keen on preparing the College's second Strategic Plan for 1436- 1440 AH, the Preparation Committee on the purpose held on Sunday, 05/01/1437 AH corresponding to 18/10/2015 AD, its first meeting to sketch the outlines of the strategy. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Khalid Al Zafiri, the College Supervisor and Chairman of the Strategic Plan Preparation Committee, with the presence of the College's respectable vice-deans and the committee members. The meeting started with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Al Zafiri who then reviewed the crucial points that must be focused on during the preparation of the plan, mainly answering the questions "where are we?" and "where are we heading?". After that, Dr. Majid bin Sulaiman Al Omari, the College's Vice-Dean for Development and Quality and the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, stressed the need to brief the Committee on the College's first strategic plan and the completion percentages of the projects and initiatives of the plan, as well as the difficulties and obstacles encountered during the implementation of some initiatives, in order to benefit from them in the preparation of the College's second plan. Next, Mr. Jamal Smida, the Head of the College's Unit of Quality Assurance and a member of the Committee, reviewed the methodology of preparing the new strategic plan through diagnosing the current situation of the College and identifying the most important strategic issues addressed by the plan, which are represented in the vision, the mission and the goals. Following that, the Committee members discussed the new organizational structure of the College, and it was agreed to set a fixed date for the Committee's next meeting to finalize the plan, according to a specific timetable. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al Zafiri expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Rector for his interest and continuing support for the College. Dr. Zafiri also thanked the members of the Committee, asking Allah the Almighty to help and guide all in order to improve our prized College and University.
