Kingdom Vision 2030 Platform

System definition:

In line with the university’s policy of fully interacting with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and introducing it, its objectives, and the programs that serve it, His Excellency the University President, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, issued directives for the university to work on building an interactive system to spread the culture of the vision. Based on this directive, the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Realization Office at the university, with the grateful support of the General Administration of Administrative and Financial Affairs, and in cooperation with the Project Management Office, the Deanship of Information Technology, the General Administration of Operation and Maintenance, and the General Administration of University Security, built this system and distributed interactive platforms in all university facilities. It is an interactive technical system that works to provide information, news, and media about the programs and initiatives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, whether carried out by the university or other entities in the Kingdom, and allows everyone to view this by browsing the electronic platforms distributed across the university’s departments, which number 26 platforms, which were taken into account to be in a prominent place in each of the university’s departments so that they are easy to access by university members and non-members.

Section One: A general section on all platforms, and it contains the following:

  • University Initiatives Department in the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Section Two: Specific to the entity where the platform is installed, allowing it to highlight its activity in the field of achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and it contains the following:

  • Photo gallery of the entity .
  • Gallery of articles about the region
  • Region news gallery .
  • This section also allows the entity to add any activities and advertisements it desires, even outside the field of view.

 

 

Vision Realization Office Objectives

- Supporting the National Transformation Plan to achieve Vision 2030.

- Working to employ the university’s equipment to develop the components of society.

- Contributing to the university’s role in supporting the national development plan.

- Working to make knowledge available to all seekers easily and conveniently.

- Proposing development initiatives that contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 inside and outside the university within its geographical scope.

- Working on implementing the development initiatives related to the vision, in integration with the university’s departments, and in accordance with its strategic vision.

- Monitoring the activities and programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 implemented by the university in order to subject them to continuous evaluation according to specific standards with the aim of developing them.

- Documenting successful experiences and best practices in the field of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in order to benefit from them.

- Developing financial, administrative and regulatory guidelines to facilitate their use in the activities of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

- Building and activating technical systems that help the office manage the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 file, in cooperation with the relevant authorities at the university.

- Any other tasks assigned to the Observatory within its field of expertise.

This department is concerned with implementing and following up on the university’s programs related to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. This department includes two units:

Initiative description:

The initiative aims to empower and qualify citizens’ human capital to possess technical skills related to the following fields of knowledge: networks and the Internet, information security, technical applications, electronic crimes, electronic transactions, social communication, and technical innovations. This is done through non-traditional methods based on practical training and applied technical simulation.

Launching the Sustainability Ambassadors Platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the auspices of the Ceval Center

The Ceval Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of its first strategic initiative to create a global platform for sustainability ambassadors. This platform is supervised by the center, and this initiative aims to bring together those interested in sustainability issues from around the world.

 

Dr. Ayman bin Jameel Al-Barakati, Director of the Sival Center, expressed his happiness at launching this platform, which comes as part of the center’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable development. He extended his sincere thanks to all participants and contributors to the establishment of this platform, most notably the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sival Center, Prof. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mazal.

 

The platform aims to be a global platform that includes many initiatives and activities related to sustainability, and aims to enhance cooperation and interaction between participants in the field of sustainability.

 

This initiative reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and the transition to a more environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable future. Under the follow-up and guidance of His Excellency the President of the University - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Ceval Center, Prof. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Muzal - the University participated in the Higher Education for Sustainability Forum (HESI) for the year 2024, which was held as a special event within the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) to follow up and review the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

 

The event was attended by His Excellency the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, and high-level representatives from international organizations and governments. The university was represented as a speaker by the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Shahri.

The event focused on “The Future of Higher Education for Sustainable Development,” and the forum included multi-stakeholder discussions on the intersection of education, innovation, and sustainability, with a focus on the impact of AI and other emerging technologies amid challenges related to stalled progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

The event highlighted inspiring initiatives from the UN system, HESI working groups and others, and the forum served as a preparatory platform for future initiatives to be promoted or launched at the Future Summit 2024, where recommendations and strategies from the forum will shape policies and practices, influencing action plans for sustainable development in higher education.

 

 

 

During the forum, the importance of transforming higher education institutions to keep pace with dynamic global changes and an unpredictable future was recognized, while valuing local knowledge and partnerships, exploiting global opportunities for innovation, and promoting sustainable and equitable development around the world. Areas were identified in which higher education institutions can enhance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through inclusive emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, while managing related social changes. The membership network was also expanded through the active participation of diverse HESI working groups.

For his part, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Shahri stressed the support and guidance of His Excellency the University President - and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Ceval Center - in enhancing the role of the university in such global events, which enhances the university’s position and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals at the local and international levels.

The university received the Excellence and Leadership Award in the educational institutions category, as it achieved first place in the periodic measurement project for job engagement for the year 2023 AD, which is one of the projects of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 AD related to the third level of the vision’s goals (improving the productivity of government sector employees), and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development honored the university on the occasion of this achievement according to the results of the project and the criterion of sustainable job engagement.

 

The Director General of Human Resources Department, Mr. Suleiman bin Badr Al-Badr, explained that the university’s achievement of first place comes as a result of joint work and cooperation between the various departments in the university, and in light of the interest and follow-up by the university president, Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Muzal. He stressed that the university is keen to invest in human competencies and harness their role in achieving the project of periodic measurement of job engagement, and achieving the university’s third strategic plan, extending his thanks to all university employees for their efforts and achieving this accomplishment.

Saudi Arabia’s Cefal Center participates in a UN side event on the role of higher education institutions in achieving sustainability.

The Saudi Center for Civilization participated in the official side event of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (  UNITAR ) and UNESCO, held under the title: Higher Education Institutions as Vital Partners in Designing and Delivering Sustainable, Resilient and Innovative Solutions, at the High-Level Political Forum ( HLPF ).

 

The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, and discussed how higher education institutions can play a pivotal role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ) through interdisciplinary learning, knowledge-based and community-oriented actions, and integrating sustainability as a primary goal of education and research.

 

The event featured a leadership dialogue involving higher education leaders from over 10 countries, where the meeting summarized common positions and suggested ways forward for future policy-making for higher education institutions. Attendees included the Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research - UN Assistant Secretary-General - Nikhil Seth, as well as a group of international university presidents such as: Victoria University, Newcastle University, and high-level representatives from UN organizations and the governments of Ireland, Finland, and Croatia.

 

His Excellency the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Shahri, and the Director of the Saudi Cefal Center, Dr. Ayman Al-Barakati, participated as representatives of the university. The university won the King Abdulaziz Quality Award in its fourth session in the category of government higher education at the bronze level in the category of entities affiliated with ministries. This award aims to achieve institutional excellence in national governmental, private and non-profit institutions, in line with the most important objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to achieve excellence in government services and enhance the role of the non-profit sector in sustainable development. This prompted establishments to express their desire to apply for the award, as it reached more than 300 establishments, an increase of more than 200% over the previous session. Of these, 134 establishments completed the requirements for desk evaluation, while 40 establishments reached the final evaluation stage, and 26 of them won the award. In this regard, His Excellency the University President, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, stated that this award is of great importance to us, as it reflects the extent of the university’s quality, and provides realistic indicators and indications of the volume of work, given that the award is keen to govern the evaluation and arbitration processes to ensure neutrality and fairness in the evaluation, as the evaluation stages include individual desk evaluation, then group desk evaluation, in addition to field visits, and then arbitration of the evaluation reports by the arbitration committee to ensure fairness of the evaluation. His Excellency added that this achievement comes as a natural result of the support the university receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his loyal Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them - and the capabilities and equipment provided to it that have effectively contributed to advancing its work and achieving many distinguished achievements at the national and international levels. Perhaps the university’s recent obtaining of institutional academic accreditation after achieving all the standards and requirements, and fulfilling all the quality conditions, contributed greatly to the successive achievements in terms of quality, and we are undoubtedly happy with such These achievements represent a true assessment of the scientific and administrative performance at the university, which is one of the university’s strategic goals that it sought to achieve and succeeded in doing so - thanks be to God - and then through the efforts of the university’s staff, including vice presidents, deans, professors, employees, male and female students. The university has obtained full institutional accreditation for the next seven years from the National Center for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation. His Excellency the Director of Majmaah University, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, received the institutional accreditation certificate from His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Mishari Al Saud, President of the National Center for Measurement and Evaluation. This came during the 2018 Higher Education Quality Forum, which is organized by the Commission, and through which educational institutions and academic programs that have obtained accreditation certificates are honored. The university had obtained institutional accreditation this year from the National Center for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation. The importance of academic accreditation lies in Majmaah University meeting the required standards and establishing the level of quality and development in the university, which will contribute to raising confidence in its outputs to meet the requirements of the labor market, and is reflected in its reputation and position among students, parents, local and foreign bodies, and relevant parties. Institutional academic accreditation is a means of achieving quality assurance for all university activities and academic, administrative, and technical events  .

 

In a statement by His Excellency the University Director, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, His Excellency stated that the university worked on preparing a strategic plan to obtain institutional accreditation, and we achieved it, thanks to God, which will be reflected positively on the university and its outputs after fulfilling all the international conditions required for higher education outputs. This accreditation came after a work plan developed by the university and a number of visits by a team of international experts specialized in the field of quality and academic accreditation from different nationalities with diverse global academic expertise and experiences. The university was evaluated at the institutional level in (11) criteria, and their visit included the university’s colleges, deanships, and various units, during which supporting documents were examined, exceeding five thousand documents in Arabic and English, in addition to a number of field visits to review the university’s infrastructure. A number of interviews were also conducted, including university leaders, deans and vice deans of colleges, heads of departments, faculty members, administrators, models of students and graduates, and a number of employment agencies. They reviewed all procedures, programs, capabilities, and equipment, as the evaluation visits were preceded by a number of visits to ensure The university’s readiness and the completion of its institutional and academic plans and policies, and its administrative procedures, under the supervision and follow-up of the National Authority for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation  .

 

His Excellency added that the university is keen to adhere to institutional work in all its various activities, and this comes in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which represents the transformation of the century in the reality of the life of Saudi society and its various institutions, as this vision depends largely on the quality of performance and outputs. His Excellency the University President concluded his statement by extending his most sincere thanks to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his loyal Crown Prince and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them - for the unlimited support that the education sector in this dear country receives, with follow-up and guidance from the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa  .

His Excellency the University President, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, is participating in the Second Arab-European Conference on Higher Education, hosted by Princess Sumaya University for Technology in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the participation of about 200 presidents of Arab and European universities. The conference, which is organized by the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the Association of European Universities and Princess Sumaya University for Technology, aims to enhance dialogue and knowledge exchange between Arab and European universities. The conference activities were organized in its first edition at the University of Barcelona, ​​Spain, while the conference was held in its second session at Princess Sumaya University. His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin stated that the university’s participation in this conference aims to enhance its role at the level of Arab universities and is an opportunity to meet with directors of Arab and European universities. It provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and meet academic and administrative leaders from several countries, and enables the university to learn about new experiences, multiple expertise, modern means and different global capabilities, which encourages the conclusion of joint cooperation agreements with distinguished universities globally to continue the development of the university and provides the opportunity for permanent communication with universities with long-standing expertise, while presenting the university's pioneering experience in the speed of establishment and success in growth and development. His Excellency also met during the conference with His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, who discussed during the meeting the importance of this conference and its themes and the discussions that took place in it, which will benefit all participants and enhance academic exchange and cooperation in scientific research between Arab and European universities. His Excellency the University President also indicated that the university's participation among these universities is evidence of the high position the university has reached, the equipment it has, the capabilities it has available, the achievements it has made, and the academic and research movement and various scientific and student activities it is witnessing, which were the subject of admiration and discussion by a number of university directors and members of the Association of Arab Universities. His Excellency also expressed his happiness with the good reputation the university has achieved in Saudi and Arab academic circles, through his meeting with a number of officials in Arab universities during his attendance at the conference, and what he heard of their praise for the position the university has reached despite its recent establishment, attributing all of this to the grace of God Almighty, and then to the great and continuous support the university receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God protect him, and with the constant follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and His Excellency the Deputy Minister, and their interest and keenness for Saudi universities to perform their assigned role and expand their activities in a way that serves the citizen and the reputation of the country. Saudi CIVIL Center Highlights Commitment to Sustainability and Strengthens International Partnerships at Qatar CSR Conference 2024

In confirmation of its firm commitment to supporting sustainability and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Ceval Center participated actively  in the second edition of the Qatar Social Responsibility Conference and Exhibition, held from April 30 to May 2, 2024 at the Qatar National Convention Center.

 

This conference is part of the National Social Responsibility Program and represents an international platform that brings together specialists, industry leaders and academics  to promote sustainable development and highlight Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts in this field.

 

Commenting on the participation, Dr. Ayman bin Jameel Al-Barakati, Director of the Ceval Center, praised the continuous support that the center receives from His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mazal, and the Vice President for Development and Investment, Professor Muslim bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, stressing that the great support that we receive at the center from the university leadership reflects the deep interest in building capacities and enhancing skills in the field of social responsibility  and sustainability and achieving the global goals and the 2030 Agenda, which enables the center to participate effectively in international forums such as this conference.

 

During the conference, the Ceval Center showcased its diverse initiatives and capabilities that aim to integrate economic, social and environmental goals into the work of institutions, reflecting the center’s commitment to sustainable development goals. The conference witnessed a large attendance and showed remarkable interest in the Ceval Center’s pavilion.

 

On  the sidelines of the conference, constructive meetings were held with Dr. Saif bin Ali Al-Hajri, CEO of the Qatar National Social Responsibility Program, and Dr. Bader Al-Ismail, Chairman of the Social Responsibility Committee at Qatar University. During these meetings, ways of cooperation to enhance  social responsibility and sustainability practices were discussed.

 

In addition, meetings were held with representatives of the International Labour Organization, UNESCO Partnerships Departments, and a number of companies and other international organizations  to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership.

 

It is worth noting that these meetings are an important step towards expanding the network of international partnerships of the Ceval Center and enhancing its role as a major player in the field of social responsibility and sustainability worldwide.

The Applied College has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two companies: El-faleh Sports House Company and Al-Sulaiman Real Estate Company. This MoU aims to exchange practical and academic experiences between the two sides.

Strategic partnerships, agreements, and MoU between educational institutions and various public and private sectors play effective role in supplying the labor market with national competencies and to saudaize a large segment of jobs. It also enhances the role of community partnership and constructive integration among the state institutions, which is a top priority of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to improve human resources, citizen efficiency, and skills.

Majmaah University (MU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to offer trainings on how to teach the Indonesian language. The signing ceremony was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed, and the Educational and Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Riyadh, Dr. Badr Al-Saleh. The MoU was signed by MU rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mizil, and the Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed.

The MoU signed with the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia comes in light of the agreement previously signed by the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Minister of Education of Indonesia during the historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Republic of Indonesia. The MoU aims to train international Indonesian students at the university to be qualified in teaching the community the Indonesian language. The students will be internationally certified in training by the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre.

Prior the signing, the Ambassador also met with MU rector in his office to discuss several topics related to the MoU.

The Ambassador was escorted in a tour to the university's facilities including the Astronomical Observatory, where he was briefed about the equipment and achievements in moon sighting. The visit also included discussions on joint research projects on astronomy and related religious matters.

At the end of the visit, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia attended the university's graduation ceremony for the 14th batch  under the patronage of Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz.

It is worth mentioning that this cooperation is the first of its kind between the Indonesian embassy and Saudi universities.

Majmaah University students receive professional certificates accredited by the e-learning platform "FutureX"

In cooperation with the National E-Learning Center, university students achieved a new achievement by obtaining more than 1600 professional certificates approved by the National E-Learning Platform "FutureX" during the second semester of the Hijri year 1445 AH.

 

The National E-Learning Platform "Future X" is one of the initiatives of the National E-Learning Center, to empower the e-learning sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by providing services and initiatives that achieve integration in the system through local and global partnerships.

 

The certificates obtained by male and female students from various colleges represent a wide range of professional fields of educational, engineering, medical, administrative, technical, and humanitarian, such as programming, cybersecurity, information security, computer networks, artificial intelligence, business administration, chemistry, therapy, physiotherapy, and nursing, which have been coordinated with the University Agency for Educational Affairs and the university's colleges.

 

Based on the directives of His Excellency the President of the University, the Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning was keen to provide more new educational programs and tracks to enhance the educational and professional paths of male and female students on an ongoing basis.

 

For his part, the Dean of Information Technology and E-Learning, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Nashi Al-Mudaibari, stated that this achievement reflects the keenness of the university leaders to support the educational process for male and female students, headed by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mizil, who shows interest in developing education and raising the level of male and female students, in addition to the continuous follow-up of all the work and activities of the Deanship from His Excellency the Vice President for Development and Investment, Prof. Dr. Muslim bin Muhammad Al-Dosari.
