The Biology Department in the College of Science visited the Health and Basic Colleges Research Center at the Vice-Rector's Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The students were welcomed by the Center Director, Dr. Nayef Al-Rashidi.
The visit featured explaining the various research laboratories available at the center including the Microbiology Laboratory, the Immunology Laboratory, the Biochemistry Laboratory, and the Multipurpose Health Laboratory. The equipment and services provided by these labs were highlighted. Among these services are the protein analysis and characterization, DNA research, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and genetic analysis.
During the visit, the students, under the supervision of a specialized faculty member, conducted some educational scientific experiments, such as producing biological samples and analyzing them biologically and chemically.
At the end of the visit, the students' questions were answered.
